Wellington, Fla. - July 15, 2016 - Wellington National Golf and Equestrian Club (WNGEC) is proud to announce their purchase of the Binks Forest Golf Club, located in western Palm Beach County at 400 Binks Forest Drive, Wellington, Florida. The world-class facility is undergoing high quality renovations to the 18-hole championship-caliber golf course, as well as massive renovations and additions to the clubhouse, ballrooms, pool and bistro.
"I have known Chip [Smith] for over 15 years, and I have seen his visions for top golf courses become a reality across the nation," Marty said. "As a resident of Wellington, I have seen a growing need for an exclusive and quality golf country club and I am proud to partner with him on this endeavor."
The prestigious golf course sprawls across more than 250 acres and was originally designed by Hall of Fame golfer Johnny Miller. It was ranked by Golf Digest a "Top 75 Public Golf Course." Renovations of the course include re-sodding, laser leveled tee boxes and new sand to the bunkers. The course will be open to members around the first of August..
Golf Professional Brett Carman will head the golf staff at Wellington National. There will be many opportunities for golfers including a junior golf program, Ladies events, and numerous member tournaments.
"In my 25+ years of golf course development experience, I have never been been so excited about a project as this one," Chip Smith explained. "Not only is the golf course and facilities amazing, I have fallen in love with Wellington and the people here."
Wellington National will offer full service catering that provides innovative and delicious cuisine, headed by Aaron Menitoff and Julie Larson. The newly renovated open architectural design is perfect for hosting large charity fundraisers, weddings and events, as well as serving the country club members daily. The highly anticipated wine bar will be open in early September.
With an all-star team of experts, including Julie Pickens, previously of the International Polo Club Palm Beach, The Breakers Palm Beach and Morton's Steak House, the Wellington National Golf and Country Club will become the go-to venue of Wellington and Palm Beach County.
